From September 30, everyone is welcome to explore the newly opened interactive walking trail and discover Latvian symbols and their meanings.
The circular route is about 5 km long, leading through Kalnamuiža, the Old Park, and Smiltene, including several sightseeing spots. The trail starts at Kalnamuiža 9, and completing all tasks takes around two hours.
The trail is designed as an interactive game in the mobile app Actionbound. To participate, download the app (available in App Store and Google Play), search for “Latvian Symbol Trail”, enter your team name, and start your adventure.
The aim of the trail is to promote Latvian symbolic heritage and encourage people to learn about local culture through shared tasks. The activity is part of the Erasmus+ project “Culture, Craft, and Citizenship”, implemented by Smiltene Technical School in cooperation with Smiltene Tourism Information Center, Smiltene Culture Center, Smiltene Youth Council, and the folklore group Rudzupuķe, together with partners from Italy, France, and Turkey.
The project promotes cultural understanding, integration, and a sense of belonging, making Smiltene a welcoming place for everyone.
