On February 27, twenty young people gathered at the Firsts Lieven Hall to take part in a discussion on the influence of culture on youth as part of the Erasmus+ cooperation project CCC (Culture. Craft. Citizenship).
During the session, participants actively discussed the significance of subcultures, culture shock, and shared their own experiences with cultural aspects that have influenced their lives. Through discussion, young people explored questions such as: How does culture shape our identity? Why do stereotypes emerge? How can we develop a respectful attitude toward what is different?
The event also included interactive games and role-playing situations that helped participants understand diverse cultural perspectives, fostering empathy and inclusive thinking. Throughout the conversations, the group concluded that openness, curiosity, and the willingness to explore diversity are essential factors in building a united and tolerant society.
What did we gain from this meeting?
- A better understanding of various subcultures and their impact on society
- New communication and critical thinking skills
- Greater empathy and tolerance toward different views and traditions
- Shared experiences and opportunities to learn from one another
A big thank-you to all participants for their involvement and valuable discussions! Stay tuned for updates — more meetings and activities within the Erasmus+ project are coming soon!
